The Anchor Story
When the dream ignited for Anchor Bat Co., few people, including its founders, thought it would become a reality. Father-and-son duo, Eddie & Matthew Rollins, have been engulfed in the game of baseball their entire lives. In 2012, they said a few prayers and decided to evolve their gifts and passions into improving the game they love so much.
Eddie is a master craftsmen. He played baseball throughout his school days but went on to pursue a different gift – the gift of creating – all while remaining part the game as a coach. On an average day you will find him making guitars, furniture and just about anything else that involves wood. He oversees all aspects of production at Anchor, and his ability to make top-quality bats has been refined over three decades.
Matthew was a four-year starter for North Greenville University, playing centerfield and hitting leadoff the majority of his college career. After his time at NGU, he had the rare opportunity to play professionally. Though the majors never came calling, Matthew's love for the game couldn’t deter his involvement in athletics somehow, some way. His work experience includes time with a performance research facility where he trained hundreds of professional and Division I athletes, members of U.S. Special Forces and first responders. But as the company and Matthew’s responsibilities grew, he found himself missing the baseball community, and understood a comeback was inevitable.
